Hawks Claim 60-43 Win Over Fredonia State

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks opened their SUNYAC campaign with a 60-43 win over Fredonia State on Friday night. Junior Amber Sohns led the way with 15 points on 5-7 from the field and 4-4 from the charity stripe. First year Kristen Sitek added 12 points and a team high seven boards. Chelsea Clarke chipped in with 10 points on 5-6 from the field.
New Paltz shot 40% as a team compared to Fredonia’s 30%. The Hawks advance to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in SUNYAC play. New Paltz will return to action Saturday afternoon when they take on the Bengals of Buffalo State at 2 p.m.
