The Center for Student Engagement is inviting all New Paltz students to a series of programs dedicated to the historic Inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris, which begins at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
The events include a Discord watch party, recap discussion and some BINGO fun with the Office of Residence Life. More info below, and use the links to sign up on Engage.
Discord Inauguration Watch Party
Jan. 20, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Join the SUNY New Paltz chat channel, watch a livestream of the Inauguration, and add your voice to some general chat channels with students and faculty from across the country. Sponsored by the Center for Student Engagement.

Various locations, including the Student Union HQ Desk, Entertainment Commons and residence hall lounges
Have classes or work on Wednesday and can’t sit down to watch the full event? The Inauguration will be playing on TVs in common areas throughout the Student Union Building and all residence halls. Don’t forget to mask up and maintain social distancing when you stop to watch!

What Did You Think of the Inauguration? A National Times Talk with Students
Jan. 21, 12 p.m.
Join faculty, staff, and students from across the country for a national discussion to debrief and discuss the Presidential Inauguration. Designed to reach across differences and create a space for discourse, this national facilitated dialogue is based on the fundamental value of the pursuit of knowledge for the public good.
