Women’s Soccer Team Falls To Oneonta
ONEONTA — Defending SUNYAC champion Oneonta got all the offense it would need early in the first half, en route to a 5-0 women’s soccer win over New Paltz on Wednesday at the Wright National Soccer Campus.
Sonada Mujanovic’s goal 8:28 into the match held up as the game winner for the (16-1 overall, 10-0 SUNYAC) Red Dragons, which are currently ranked sixth nationally in Division III. Mujanovic scored another goal just before halftime, SUNYAC scoring leader Liz McGrail had two first-half goals, and Cristina Gaspar also scored for Oneonta.
New Paltz goalkeeper Kim Baldwin, who faced 25 Oneonta shots, made six saves in the loss for the (3-13 overall, 1-9 SUNYAC) Hawks, which are right back in action at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Bard.
