Martha Tait-Watkins, who currently serves as immigration information coordinator at the Center for International Programs, will retire at the end of this month after a 20-year career in a variety of roles across campus.
Tait-Watkins joined the College in 2000 as a senior counselor for internships in the Career Resource Center. She attained certification as a National Certified Counselor and rose to the position of assistant director during her time at the Center.
She went on to serve in roles at the School of Business, the School of Education Dean’s office, the Hudson Valley Writing Project and, finally, her current place at the Center for International Programs.
“In these various positions, Martha has contributed to the success of New Paltz students, guiding them as they transitioned from college to professional life and launching their careers,” said Beth Vargas, executive director of the Center for International Programs. “She is known for her bright smile, boundless energy, numerous community volunteer activities and her love of chocolate. Martha has been a fantastic colleague and will be missed.”
