Geneseo Edges Hawks In Men’s Soccer
NEW PALTZ — Dominic Oliveri’s goal in the first half stood up as the game-winner, as SUNY Geneseo edged SUNY New Paltz, 1-0, in SUNYAC men’s soccer on Friday afternoon.
The (3-3 overall, 2-1 SUNYAC) Knights scored 16:21 into the contest and limited New Paltz to just one shot on goal in the first half. The (1-7 overall, 1-2 SUNYAC) Hawks outshot Geneseo 5-3 in the second half, but couldn’t convert any of their scoring chances.
New Paltz goalkeeper Kevin Smith made three saves in the loss, while Geneseo counterpart John Oliveri needed just two saves to preserve the shutout.
The Hawks host Brockport tomorrow at 1 p.m.
