Jessica Kulesa Named Head Field Hockey Coach
NEW PALTZ, NY — SUNY New Paltz Director of Athletics Stuart Robinson has announced the hiring of Jessica Kulesa as its new head field hockey coach.
It’s the first head coaching position for Kulesa who has been the assistant field hockey coach at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY for the past year. In 2004 Kulesa helped guide Hartwick to a 16-3 record, the Empire 8 Championship and an appearance in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Kulesa played her collegiate field hockey at William Smith where she went 40-15 as a three-year starter in goal for the Herons. Kulesa was a member of William Smith’s 2000 National Championship team and earned numerous accolades during her career. She was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-America as a senior and a three-time all-conference and all-region selection. She was named the Rochester Area Athlete of the Year in 2003 and played in the North/South all-star game that same year.
Kulesa earned a degree in art history with a minor in elementary education from William Smith in 2004. She is originally from Patchogue, NY and is a 2000 graduate of Garden City High School in Garden City, NY.
