The Career Resource Center held its 14th annual Internship Recognition Ceremony on April 20, in recognition not only of student interns who take advantage of applied learning experiences, but the many employers, advisors, mentors and administrators who work to make their enriching experiences possible.

“We’re here to welcome, honor and celebrate outstanding student interns, student teachers, the employers and organizations who create these opportunities and faculty who guide, support and make those experiences as rich as they can be,” said President Donald P. Christian. “I always enjoy this opportunity to celebrate our great students who seize great opportunities and the community partners who make them possible.”
The annual event honors SUNY New Paltz students who taught or interned at local school districts and business. This year’s class included students who gained professional experience at an accounting firm, a digital media company, an environmental state agency, regional agricultural concerns, local manufactures and other organizations.
“These experiences matter deeply in educational value we create for our students,” President Christian said. “Exposure to a particular field allows students to put skills to practice, and often opens doors for them to newly discover opportunities after they leave SUNY New Paltz.”
Interns and student teachers were honored with awards before the employers, members of community organizations and school districts who offered their guidance and support through successful out-of-classroom experiences created by SUNY New Paltz faculty mentors.
Students and prospective employers are welcome to visit the Career Resource Center to learn more about capitalizing on internship opportunities through SUNY New Paltz.
