Hawks Wrap-up Regular Season With 2-0 Win Over Famingdale

FARMINGDALE, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 2-0 road victory over SUNY Farmingdale this afternoon.

The Hawks (7-9-3) used a two-goal first half to prevail. Senior forward Lauren Martone (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY) set up sophomore midfielder Stephanie DeRobertis (Newburgh, NY) for the opening goal of the game. Later in the half, senior forward Danielle Herring (Albany, NY) scored off a pass from freshman midfielder Lauren Martel (Sayville, NY) to put the Hawks in front, 2-0.

SUNY New Paltz will ride this afternoon’s victory into the opening round of the State University of New York Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 2). The sixth-seeded Hawks will play at third-seeded Cortland at 1:00 p.m.
