Misericordia Defeats SUNY New Paltz 3-1

DALLAS, PA — Sophomore forward Sheena Hoffman scored two goals and Lunda Dickson added two assists to help lead The College of Misericordia to a 3-1 victory over SUNY New Paltz this afternoon.

Hoffman took a pass from Dickson in the 26th minute to put the Cougars in front 1-0. Five minutes later, Dickson set up Annette Troutman to give Misericordia a 2-0 advantage. Hoffman added her second goal of the day in the 47th minute for the Cougars who have won nine of their last 10 contests.

SUNY New Paltz (7-11) junior midfielder Patricia Erikson (Massapequa, NY) spoiled the shut bid for Misericordia and sophomore goalie Jamie Derr with an unassisted goal in the 55th minute.

Sophomore goalie Nicole Kovac (Manlius, NY) stopped 10 shots for the Hawks. Derr had nine saves for Misericordia.
