Brockport’s Mohr Picks Up Two Wins Against Hawks
BROCKPORT, NY — New Paltz baseball could not find an answer to Brockport pitcher Ryan Mohr Saturday afternoon.
Mohr picked up a complete-game three-hit victory in game one and pitched the first five innings of game two surrendering only three hits en route to win number two.
Silvester Castro (New York, NY) went 1-for-3 and scored the only run for the Hawks in game one while Randy Walters (Collierville, TN) and Kevin Smith (Niskayuna, NY) each added a hit each.
In game two, the Hawks fell behind 5-0 in the first two innings and never could put anything together offensively. Phil Scaglione (Stony Point, NY) went 2-for-3 to lead New Paltz. Joe Gugliotta (Bayport, NY) took the loss pitching five innings giving up six runs on eight hits.
New Paltz is in a must-win situation in tomorrow’s doubleheader at Oswego. The Hawks need to pick up two wins to have a chance at a SUNYAC playoff berth.
