Hawks Come From Behind To Take 3rd at AIRCAST Tip-Off Classic
NEWARK, NJ — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team rebounded from a 20-point first-half deficit to defeat Becker College 70-63 for third place at the AIRCAST Tip-Off Classic hosted by Rutgers-Newark. The Hawks found themselves down 19-2 to start the game but rallied in the second half to claim their first win of the year and first career victory for Head Coach Doug Pasquerella.
New Paltz was led by Mike Cutler who had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Steve Ott added 10 points and nine rebounds and Ben Davey contributed 10 points.
New Paltz was coming off a loss to host Rutgers-Newark on Friday 59-41.
The Hawks are now 1-1 overall.
