Manhattanville Stops Men’s Tennis
PURCHASE, NY — After running through their opposition for four straight matches New Paltz ran into the Manhattanville Valiants who defeated the Hawks 6-3. The loss moves New Paltz’s record to 7-5.
In singles, Tiby Taran (Brooklyn Kings, NY) defeated Alex Berne 7-6, 6-4, and Josh Greenspan (North Babylon, NY) continued his winning ways defeating Scott Jensen 6-3, 6-3. Ed Paulinski (Floral Park, NY), Brad Breakstone (Mount Kisco, NY), Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY), and Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, NY) all lost in hard fought straight set matches.
In doubles Palmenteri and David Bridglall (Bronx, NY) disposed of their opponents 8-2. Paulinski and Taran fell 8- 6, and Breakstone and Calise were defeated 8-1.
The Hawks will look to rebound this weekend as they take part in the Metro Tournament in Flushing Meadows.
