Matthews Highlights Track and Field at ECAC Championships

MEDFORD, MA — New Paltz sophomore Dave Matthews (Wallkill, NY) placed 8th this weekend in the 400 meters at the ECAC Championships at Tufts University. Matthews came in at 50.51, just two seconds off an automatic NCAA qualifying time.

Also for the Hawks, Phil Goodwin (Rochester, NY) finished 12th in the men’s 1500 meters (4:03.67), and Justin Lee (East Fishkill, NY) was 22nd in the men’s 800 meters (1:59.71). The men’s distance relay team was 21st at 10:46.22 and the 4×800 meter relay team was 11th with a time of 8:06.09.

On the women’s side, Andrea Drayss (Island Park, NY) was 17th in the women’s shot put and Natasha Dudar (New Paltz, NY) was 29th in the women’s triple jump with a jump of 10.28 meters.
