New Paltz Men’s Volleyball Splits Matches in Massachusetts
BOSTON, MA/CAMBRIDGE, MA — The men’s volleyball team came away from the weekend with a win and a loss bringing its season record to 8-9.
The Hawks began with a victory over MIT in 3 straight games 30-15, 30-27, and 30-24. Five players for New Paltz had at least 5 kills and 4 digs. Beau Warren (Canandaigua, NY) had a double double in the match with 12 digs and 24 assists.
In their second match, the Hawks fought valiantly against Division I Harvard but eventually fell to the Crimson 3 games to 1. Harvard took the first two games 30-21 and 30- 26 before New Paltz took game three 30-26.The Crimson took the final game of the match 30-22. Jason Bateman (Brewerton, NY) and Beau Warren each had double doubles in the loss. Bateman had 11 kills and 14 digs, and Warren had 10 digs and 31 assists.
Men’s volleyball returns to action Wednesday at Queens beginning at 7:00pm.
