Interim dean of the School of Fine and Performing Arts named to Walkway Over the Hudson board of directors
Members of the Walkway Over the Hudson organization recently voted to add five new directors to its board—including New Paltz’s very own Paul Kassel, interim dean of the School of Fine and Performing Arts.
“The Walkway is a destination, but it is also a historical site, and as such presents a wide range of opportunities for students and faculty—as a place to do their work, show their work, and be inspired,” said Kassel.
According to Kassel, board members are responsible for setting policy and guiding the organization to a successful future; working on one or more committees; volunteering at Walkway events; and attending monthly meetings.
Kassel is a professional actor, director, and writer who has worked in regional theaters, and in a number of films, television shows, and industrial presentations. He has taught courses in Performance and Theatre Studies and directed many plays at SUNY New Paltz.
