Graphic Design seniors gain insights in creative careers through Adobe Creative Retreat

On April 17 and 18, six SUNY New Paltz seniors in the Graphic Design program attended the Adobe Creative Retreat in New York City’s Times Square, which comprised of two days of networking, career readiness discussions, portfolio reviews and wellness activities.  

The New Paltz students were selected amongst 75 students and recent graduates from the New York tri-state area as the most talented and career-oriented graphic design, speaking to the caliber of the New Paltz program.

Nominated by faculty, Olivia Hansen 25 (Graphic Design), Johnny DiMaio 25 (Graphic Design), Cleo Goldman 25 (Graphic Design), Kaylah Phillips 25 (Graphic Design), Emely Moncion 25 (Graphic Design) and Elizabeth Blasco 25 (Graphic Design) all had the opportunity to be a part of this unique, beneficial event.  

“It was an incredibly inspiring, insightful and energizing experience for emerging graphic designers like myself,” says DiMaio, “From workshops and panels to connecting with truly talented creatives and industry professionals, I’m feeling more inspired than ever to keep pushing forward in my design journey.”

These talented seniors, and their graduating peers, will be presenting their Graphic Design senior thesis projects and portfolios at the Design Show 2025 on May 2 from 4-7 p.m. in Wooster Hall.
