Library hosts celebration of faculty authors who published books in 2024
The campus community gathered on April 2 at the Sojourner Truth Library to honor the dedication of published faculty writers for the annual Celebration of Faculty Authors tradition.
This event is designed as a space for colleagues to observe the hard and time-intensive work of researching, drafting, refine revising and publishing in their areas of expertise, even as they balance responsibilities to teach and mentor New Paltz students.
This year’s celebration honored books, recordings and publications authored by 13 faculty members in the past year, across a breadth of topics.
The following faculty members were recognized for their scholarly and creative works:
Mona Ali, Economics
Katelyn Clark, Early Childhood and Childhood Education
Dan Daly, Theatre Arts
Aurora De Armendi Sobrino, Art
Insu Heinz Fenkl, English
Kris Jansma, English
Gowri Parameswaran, Educational Studies and Leadership
Jonathan Raskin, Psychology
Lou Roper, History
Usha Vishnuvajjala, English
Chris Whitaker, Education
Reva Wolf, Art History
Jason Wrench, Communication
All of these publications have now been added to the more than 2,200 book-length works by SUNY New Paltz faculty authors in the Sojourner Truth Library’s collection.
