SUNY Votes slider

Under New York State law, college students have the choice to vote either at their college address or at their home address.

There may be many reasons why you would want to vote at one location or another, including to be able to vote in the local elections for the community in that location. However, you must be registered to vote in the county for the location where you choose to vote.

In order to vote in the Nov. 5, 2024, election, you must be registered to vote by Oct. 26, 2024, and you must be 18 years old by Nov. 5, 2024.

If you are not able to vote in person at the location where you choose to vote, you must request an absentee ballot in advance of the election to cast your vote.
