“The Multigenerational Business”: Hudson Valley Future Summit returns on Nov. 13
SUNY New Paltz will host the 6th installment of the Hudson Valley Future Summit, convening regional business leaders and distinguished guests for an afternoon of inspiring conversations on Nov. 13, 2024.
This year’s program is designed for members of family businesses who play a role in guiding their company’s future, whether you work in the business, are married into it, or are a next-generation owner not currently involved in operations. You’ll be learning alongside other local multigenerational family business peers and industry experts who will support you throughout your journey.
The return of the Future Summit – a regional tradition at the University prior to the COVID-19 pandemic – promises an afternoon program of series of workshops and panels featuring Hudson Valley multigenerational family business leaders and industry experts. It will also feature a session from Kimberly A. Eddleston, PhD, the Schulze Distinguished Professor at Northeastern University and founding editor of FamilyBusiness.org. SUNY New Paltz President Darrell P. Wheeler will provide opening remarks.
Registration is open now and includes a delicious, locally sourced lunch and closing reception at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art. The full list of featured presenters and program schedule can be found here.
This year’s topic, “The Multigenerational Business: Charting a Course for Success,” underscores the various benefits of developing family business leaders and a sustainable strategy for long-term planning and viability.
The Future Summit focuses on facilitating connection among the SUNY New Paltz campus community, alumni, regional leaders and owners involved with family-run businesses. The day’s events underscore the increasingly enriching, productive and strategic interplay between the University and the many civic, educational, business and creative interests in the Hudson Valley.
There are four sessions, including “Here’s to Future Success: Breaking through the Isolation and Ensuring Long-Term Family Contributions,” “Putting the Success in Succession Planning for the Transition of the Family Business,” “Intergenerational Conversations: Overcoming Communication Challenges,” and “Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition.”
The Hudson Valley Future Summit demonstrates the University’s role as a cultural hub in the Hudson Valley, generating conversation and new ideas for promoting sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.
This event is made possible by the SUNY New Paltz Foundation, Inc., by major sponsors M&T Bank and Beyond Wealth Management Group, LLC.
If you are interested in attending, register here by Nov. 8. Discounted tier pricing is available for multiple family members to attend.
