SUNY New Paltz will debut a new MS in Business Analytics degree in fall 2024

The SUNY New Paltz School of Business is launching a new graduate degree program in Business Analytics ahead of the fall 2024 semester, to meet a growing demand for professionals adept at using data to inform key business decisions.

The Master of Science in Business Analytics is a 30-36 credit program that can be completed in less than one year on a full-time schedule.

Prospects are encouraged to schedule an appointment to speak with the Assistant Dean for Graduate Business Programs about this degree and how to apply.

The curriculum, developed by School of Business faculty who imbue their teaching with insights gained from hands-on industry experience, focuses on the modern technologies that increasingly define the strategic landscape across a range of industries.

Students will gain experience using applied statistics, artificial intelligence, computer science, data management and other STEM-informed tools and aptitudes.

The program aims to deliver the skills that corporate leaders increasingly expect in applicants and employees. The MS in Business Analytics empowers professionals to translate raw data into actionable insights and grow into influential leaders within their organizations.

That embrace of technology extends to course delivery. Classes are offered in a “Hy-Flex” model of mixed in-person and online modalities, which students can move between at their convenience. Faculty have received special training to provide effective education across these mixed formats.

Courses touch on content areas including big data and data warehousing; advanced statistics; data visualization and machine learning, among other content areas. Foundation courses in statistics analysis, decision theory and Python programming will be provided to applicants without those prerequisites.
