New! A Geocaching scavenger hunt at SUNY New Paltz, courtesy of the Sustainability Ambassadors Biodiversity Team

One of the geocaches hidden around campus. Can you find them all?

The Sustainability Ambassadors at SUNY New Paltz are inviting all members of the community to join a campuswide scavenger hunt!

The University’s first-ever outdoor geocaching project is now live, thanks to the student Sustainability Ambassadors Biodiversity Team.

Geocaching is an outdoor scavenger hunt app guided by GPS-enabled devices. All are welcome to download the free app and begin the search of 10 geocaches (typically a container or other object) that have been hidden across campus.

Each geocache highlights the campus’s ecological features and the natural beauty of SUNY New Paltz. Biodiversity Team members have rated each geocache location on accessibility and how difficulty they are to find.

The Biodiversity Team hopes campus community members will explore and learn about nature across campus, de-stress from everyday life, and connect with the Earth and living beings across campus.
