SUNY New Paltz will support The College of Saint Rose students through a new Teach-Out Agreement
SUNY New Paltz and The College of Saint Rose have a new Teach-Out Agreement in place to support Saint Rose students ahead of the planned closure of Saint Rose on June 30, 2024.
Equivalency programs have been identified at New Paltz for about 20 of Saint Rose’s undergraduate programs and about 15 Saint Rose graduate programs. Upon admission to New Paltz, Saint Rose students will matriculate directly into these equivalency programs. The full list of program equivalencies is available on this page.
Qualified Saint Rose students will be eligible for admission to New Paltz as transfer students, and their application fees will be waived. SUNY New Paltz will make every effort to ensure that Saint Rose students pay no more than they are currently paying at Saint Rose in combined tuition, fee and housing costs, after financial aid is calculated. SUNY New Paltz will accept all credits previously earned by Saint Rose students.
“We recognize that this is an extremely difficult experience for everyone at Saint Rose – students, faculty, and staff,” said SUNY New Paltz Provost William McClure. “At New Paltz, we pride ourselves on our close-knit and supportive community, and we will do everything possible to welcome Saint Rose students who choose to transfer to our institution.”
New Paltz joins other regional colleges and universities coordinating with Saint Rose on its comprehensive Teach-Out Plan to provide their students with uninterrupted, program-specific pathways to complete their educational programs and obtain their desired degrees.
Saint Rose students who attend New Paltz will have access to support services to ease their transition and will receive all the same rights and privileges as New Paltz students, including equal consideration for student housing. New Paltz will work to ensure that Saint Rose students have access to clinical experiences, internships and other program elements needed toward graduation, to the greatest extent practicable.
New Paltz will be present at an Undergraduate & Graduate Transfer Fair that will be hosted by Saint Rose at Massry Center for the Arts in Albany, New York, on Feb. 15.
The College of Saint Rose announced on Dec. 1, 2023, that their Board of Trustees had voted to cease academic instruction after the end of the 2023-2024 academic year.
