Best of the best: New Paltz School of Business earns AACSB reaccreditation
The SUNY New Paltz School of Business has met all standards and qualifications to retain AACSB International accreditation, a global mark of excellence and value that is reserved for only the top business programs worldwide.
For more than a hundred years, AACSB has worked as an international non-profit to improve the quality of business education and help students, educators and organizations identify outstanding programs in higher education.
Fewer than 1,000 institutions worldwide have met the high standards to earn accreditation. New Paltz’s School of Business first achieved the distinction in 2013.
Achieving and retaining accreditation is a rigorous, multi-year, peer-reviewed process that requires schools to prove their commitment to outstanding teaching that prepares graduates for professional success in a rapidly modernizing business landscape.
“Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB.
Our School of Business continues to meet these standards of excellence through new programs like undergraduate majors in Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship, continued growth of advanced programs like the MBA at New Paltz and the MBA in Public Accountancy, and community partnerships that create real opportunities for students and alumni, like the Hudson Valley Venture Hub that serves the regional start-up ecosystem.
“Reaccreditation through AACSB demonstrates our commitment to academic excellence, innovation and positive societal impact,” said Kristin Backhaus, dean of the School of Business. “I am proud of the work that our faculty and staff do to assure the continuous advancement of our School as recognized by this outstanding achievement.”
