Early Voting: When, Where and How it Works
Complete early voting hours can be found below or at the Ulster County Board of Elections website:
Early Voting at SUNY New Paltz will take place on these dates and times on the lower level of the Student Union. For most campus visitors, the easiest way to the polling location will be to enter through the main doors of the Atrium and look for the stairway down one level.
All voters are expected to follow campus health and safety policies, including wearing masks indoors at all times regardless of vaccination status.
Six campus parking spaces will be reserved for early voters from Oct. 23 – 31 along the road leading away from Haggerty Administration Building toward Rt. 32. These are already visitor parking spaces and should not affect parking availability for New Paltz students or employees.
Early voting works the same as voting on Election Day: Voters will check in to vote, receive their ballots, fill them out and turn them in.
Instructions will be available at all early voting sites to familiarize you with the ballot. There will also be a notice to the voter and a bill of rights. Election inspectors will be on hand to explain how to vote or provide other assistance.
Other New York counties offer early voting as well. Use this site to find early voting information for New York counties other than Ulster.
Election Day at SUNY New Paltz

Students who live off campus will likely have an Election Day polling location in their village or town. If you’re not sure where your polling location is for the 2021 election, you can confirm your registration status and site with the New York Board of Elections.
All voters are expected to follow campus health and safety policies, including wearing masks indoors at all times regardless of vaccination status.
The Disability Resource Center serves as the campus site coordinator for those who request or apply for accommodations or services with the on-campus polling location. The staff in the Disability Resource Center will assist students who request accommodations with completing and submitting their voter registration materials. Contact the Disability Resource Center at 845-257-3020 for more information.
