March 1 report on confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the campus community
Sixteen students and two employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
There were four new positive tests conducted off campus, and 18 conducted on campus. The difference between new positive cases and the number of positive tests is a result of some individuals getting tested more than once.
Twenty-eight cases are currently classified as active in our campus community. Sixteen students are presently in isolation on campus, and 19 students are in quarantine on campus.
Our positivity rate for on-campus testing currently stands at 0.55%, with more than 12,000 tests conducted in 2021 to date.
There have been 59 students and 20 employees in our on-campus population with confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 since Jan. 1, 2021.
You can stay up-to-date via our COVID-19 dashboard, which includes tallies of current active cases, total cases last week, total recoveries, on-campus testing statistics and positivity rates, and information about students quarantining and isolating on campus.
This dashboard does not include information about positive cases among students taking online courses from home, or employees who are telecommuting and not coming to campus, as any such cases should not pose an on-campus health risk.
We will continue reporting new active cases of COVID-19 in our campus community (defined as students or employees who have been on campus and may have infected others) in the Daily Digest email newsletter and on the COVID-19 dashboard, Monday – Friday throughout the spring 2021 semester.
