Deadline extended: Faculty now have until Dec. 18 to submit final grades
The following message was sent to faculty and staff by email on Friday, Nov. 6.
Dear New Paltz Faculty:
We have heard the concerns expressed in the recent faculty letter and open forum with regard to hardships complicating work-life balance during the pandemic.
To help mitigate fall semester pressures for faculty, we are extending the deadline for faculty to submit final grades to Dec. 18, allowing 10 days beyond Dec. 8, when finals end.
This recommendation emerged from the early career Futures Committee. Out of shared recognition of the need to alleviate some of the many stresses exacerbated under COVID-19, this action has the support of faculty governance as well as academic/campus administration. We believe that this change will benefit our students, correspondingly relieving some of their deadline pressures.
Please see fall semester Upcoming Dates & Deadlines on the website of Records and Registration.
Wishing you a successful conclusion to the fall semester,
Barbara Lyman, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
David Eaton, Vice President for Enrollment Management
