Update from Mail Services on fall 2020 operations
Mail Services in the Office of Communication & Marketing would like to share the following updates about our fall operations:
Hours of operation and health and safety policies
Effective Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, Mail Services will be open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
All students, faculty and staff must follow mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines when picking up mail during these core hours. Consistent with these policies, all letter and package recipients must adhere to social distancing signage leading to the Mail Services window in the Haggerty Administration Building basement.
While these actions help protect our campus community, please note that the line to pick up items may be longer than in previous semesters.
Recommendation for returning resident students ordering textbooks
We encourage returning resident students who are ordering textbooks or other course materials online to consider mailing them to your home address before returning to campus, rather than having them shipped to your on-campus address.
This will reduce the need to wait in line at the Mail Services window and further limit in-person contact during the busiest time of the academic year.
Employees: Please let Mail Services know if your office will be staffed this fall
Mail Services will make on-campus deliveries a few days per week to residence halls and offices that are regularly staffed.
We ask that departments and units please let Mail Services know as soon as possible via e-mail (mailservices@newpaltz.edu) or phone (845 257-3122) if your department plans to have in-person staff on campus at least two or three days per week.
As always, faculty and staff can pick up and drop off department mail in person at the Mail Services window during core business hours.
Thank you for working with us as we continue to support the campus during these rapidly changing times.
