A labor of love — Alumni Association welcomes Class of 2020
The Office of Development & Alumni Relations at the College was determined to welcome the Class of 2020 into the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association, despite the impact of COVID-19.
A team led by Director of Alumni Relations Shana Circe ’02 ’06g (Visual Arts Education) folded, stuffed and labeled nearly 2,000 packages for the College’s recent graduates, honoring their unique time at New Paltz that culminated in a virtual, socially distanced way.
“This project was a labor of love,” said Circe. “Love for the Orange and the Blue.”
The packages included orange and blue philanthropy cords, an alumni pin, a forever orange and blue sticker and a “Welcome to the Alumni Association” resource card and letter.
The gifts took about 30 hours to assemble and pack.
“I owe a big thank you to my colleagues who made several hundred packages, to my kids and my alumnus husband, who are also required to bleed orange and blue,” said Circe. “Everyone helped get these out the door! Congratulations graduates!”
