Wealth Advisory Group Virtual Career Day

Wealth Advisory Group is looking to fill a variety positions for their team, and hiring from all academic majors.

This information session with SUNY New Paltz alumna Lauren Pastore ’05 (Psychology) will take place on Wednesday, May 27, from 3 – 4 p.m.

New Resource! Bonsai: Advice you need for the career you want
The Career Resource Center is now working with Bonsai, a company that gives college students and recent graduates the ability to learn from professionals and executives across the business world via 1:1 video chats.

Bonsai’s founders – CEO and New Paltz alumnus Patrick Sullivan ’96 (Music), and COO Jake Rosenfeld – will host a Virtual Fireside Chat for SUNY New Paltz students to discuss specific industry-related subjects including breaking into “big tech,” starting a company from scratch, and seeking employment in a post-COVID world as an intern or entry-level candidate.

This exciting opportunity will take place on Tuesday, June 2, at 12 p.m. via Google Meet. Advance RSVP is required; please sign up here to attend.

This event is exclusive for SUNY New Paltz students, who will be able to watch, learn from and interact with the Bonsai team in a totally virtual environment. We are excited to bring you into the Bonsai community so you can continue building your professional networks with the best of the best across the industries that interest you over the course of this summer and beyond.

Dining Etiquette Workshop: How to Interview During a Meal

Students can get a free, quick overview of best practices for formal and/or business dining situations, with answers to questions like:

  • Do you have to try something that doesn’t look appealing?
  • Where do you put your napkin when you leave the table?
  • What do you do if you have something foreign in your mouth, like a bone or a stem?
  • Do you tell someone that they have something in their teeth?
  • What to do if you drop a fork?

This event will take place on Friday, June 5, from 12 – 1:15 p.m. Advance registration is required via this link. Login credentials will be provided upon registration, and participants will receive the presentation materials following the program.

Virtual Job-search groups for graduating seniors

Are you a graduating senior? The CRC has something new for you!

We will deliver information, resources and guidance to upcoming graduates in a virtual job-search group format.

This setting gives each participant the chance to share ideas and support each other in a group setting. Each group will meet for four sessions to begin before graduation and continue into June. Participants will be given action items to complete along the way to bring back and share with group.
