Two opportunities to develop grant writing skills on May 4
The Office of Sponsored Programs & Research Compliance reminds faculty members that scholarship applications are due today, Monday, May 4, for the SUNY Center for Professional Development’s Grants and Proposals: If you write it they will fund! 12-week asynchronous workshop. This course begins on Tuesday, May 19.
Sarah Wyman, director of the Faculty Development Center, has kindly offered to assist faculty with scholarship applications, if needed. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If you apply for the scholarship, you must wait to register for the course until after you are approved. Contact Wyman at wymans@newpaltz.edu or Carrie Corti, senior portfolio director in the Office Sponsored Programs & Research Compliance, at cortic@newpaltz.edu for more information.
Additionally, we want to make faculty aware of a free grant writing webinar taking place today, May 4, from 2 – 4 p.m. The Write! (As if Your Career Depends on it) Webinar is hosted by Professor Susan Brennan of Stony Brook University, and will cover how to write about your research in an interesting and lively way, tailored to your audience and is recommended for all fellowship and grant writers. Note: If you have not used ZOOM before, you will be prompted to download software once you have clicked on the registration links.
