EAP and Workplace With Heart present online exercise breaks, beginning April 20

The SUNY New Paltz Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Workplace With Heart are proud to offer movement breaks for the duration of the spring 2020 semester. Classes are taught by Christina Cordier Purdy, associate director of wellness & recreation and seasoned fitness professional, and are presented in cross-campus collaboration with SUNY Purchase EAP.

Whether this is your first “group exercise” class, or you are a seasoned exercise veteran, these classes are designed with many options to cater to a variety of fitness levels. Consider starting and ending your work week with much needed movement and connection while we all adjust to the “new norm.”

What you need: A mat or a soft surface, some space to move around, and an open mind!

What to wear: comfortable clothing to move in, sneakers optional (avoid just socks).

Purdy will be available 10 minutes before and after class to “meet” all of you and answer any questions you may have!

Classes start this Monday, April 20, and will run through Monday, May 11. Descriptions and sign-up links below.

Mondays at 7:30 a.m. (beginning April 20):

Pilates – Designed to strengthen and lengthen the core muscles of the body while emphasizing concentration, control, physical centering, flowing movement, precision, and breathing.

Fridays at 7:30 a.m. (beginning April 24):

Mind/Body Boot Camp – Enjoy flowing movement that fuses Yoga, Pilates, and Body Weight Strength training to create a “ground up” total body workout!

Fridays at 11 a.m. (beginning April 24):

Latin Dance in your Kitchen – Participants will experience low impact traditional Latin Rhythm modified for your kitchen space! Enjoy the natural heat and passion of Latin Music in an easy to follow format!

You must register with your newpaltz.edu or purchase.edu email address in order to be approved entry. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
