Children in grades k-12 can now apply for spring 2020 Literacy Tutoring
The Literacy Center at SUNY New Paltz is now accepting applications for the spring 2020 Literacy Tutoring Program, which is open to any students with remedial literacy needs in kindergarten through grade 12.
This unique program connects young learners with tutors from New Paltz’s graduate program in Literacy Education. Tutors are trained to provide individualized reading and writing lessons to students of various ages, once per week throughout the spring semester, with supervision and guidance from professors in the School of Education.
Spring 2020 Literacy Tutoring Program sessions will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, from 5:15 – 7:00 p.m. The complete schedule and application information are available at www.newpaltz.edu/literacycenter/.
All sessions are held in the Literacy Center in Old Main on the SUNY New Paltz campus. Use this link for a campus map and directions.
Tuition for the full-semester program is $100 for Monday and Tuesday sessions, and $125 for Wednesday sessions, payable upon acceptance into the program. Financial support is available for families in need. Children accepted to the Literacy Tutoring Program are expected to attend all tutoring sessions.
If you have accessibility questions or require accommodations to fully participate in these sessions, please contact Literacy Center Coordinator Sam Slotnick at 845-257-2809 or slotnics@newpaltz.edu.
