Program leaders gather to talk pathways to sustainability-related careers
SUNY New Paltz faculty representing programs in science, the liberal arts & sciences, education and business met with students this month to talk about how they can integrate sustainability in their courses of study, and apply that knowledge in pursuit of professional fulfillment.
“Adding sustainability to your major can create a very strong combination for a prospective career,” said Edith Kuiper, chair of economics. “It is up to you what you want to do. Regardless of how you continue after you graduate, you are sure to impact our society.”
Attending students had the opportunity to speak with the following faculty members:
- Shafiul Chowdhury: Director of the Environmental Geochemical Science Program
- Eric Keeling: Assistant Professor of Biology
- Edith Kuiper: Chair of Economics
- Daniel Lipson: Associate Professor of Political Science
- Lawrence McGlinn: Assistant Professor of Geography
- Rosemary Millham: Associate Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning
- Brian Obach: Director of Environmental Studies Minor Program and Professor of Sociology
- Michael Sheridan: Assistant Professor in the School of Business
