Business student shines at Beta Gamma Sigma Global Leadership Summit
The SUNY New Paltz School of Business is a chapter member of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), the international honor society recognizing the excellent work of business students in programs that are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
This year, BGS executive board member and President of the Accounting and Finance Association Micaela Manteo ’15 (Public Accountancy) attended the society’s first annual Global Leadership Summit in Orlando, Fla. The conference was the largest gathering of BGS members in the society’s history, as more than 350 members representing institutions from 14 nations came together for a discussion of business best practices and leadership strategies.
The weekend featured more than 60 speakers from a variety of industries, and also included time for reflection and conversation between student members.
“I was thrilled to have met so many different people from around the world who are in similar business programs to the one at New Paltz,” Manteo said. “The experience was extremely rewarding, and I can’t wait to share the tools we discussed with my friends, faculty and other Beta Gamma Sigma members.”
