IIB students begin internships at New York City businesses
The Institute for International Business (IIB) at SUNY New Paltz creates opportunities for international students each fall and spring semester. In just four months, groups of international students from nations around the world get the dual opportunity to study in business courses alongside students in the School of Business, and to gain valuable internship experience working at some of the most prestigious businesses in New York City.
“In the 25 years since the IIB at SUNY New Paltz began, we have helped hundreds of English-speaking international students realize a study abroad and internship experience,” said Jeff Pollard, IIB coordinator. “The one-semester model makes this program more affordable to many international students, thereby increasing program diversity, and the School of Business faculty often comment positively on the international perspective the IIB students bring to their classes.”
This fall, 19 students completed the requisite course work in business, business communications and public relations. Through the facilitation of the IIB, these students have now moved on to live and work full-time in NYC.
