Award-winning industrial designer Scott Summit to speak on “3D Printing: Using the Body to Design for the Body”
The Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz welcomes award-winning industrial designer Scott Summit to speak on “3D Printing: Using the Body to Design for the Body,” on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Coykendall Science Building auditorium on the New Paltz campus.
Summit is the founder and chief technology officer of Bespoke Innovations. Founded in 2010, in collaboration with an orthopaedic surgeon, the company’s focus is to create individualized artificial limbs that patients themselves can choose and personalize. With more than 20 patents to his name, Summit has held faculty positions at Stanford, Carnegie Mellon and Singularity University. He is also the founder of industrial design firm Summit ID and is a TEDx speaker.
This event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by 3D Systems, Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, Hudson River Ventures, Central Hudson, Hudson Valley Technology Development Center, Inc., and the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce.
