New Paltz named to Princeton Review’s “Best Value Colleges for 2012”
The State University of New York at New Paltz is one of the nation’s “Best Value” colleges and universities according to the Princeton Review, which ranked New Paltz among the top 75 public 4-year institutions of higher education in the United States.
The Princeton Review selected its “Best Value” schools based on institutional data and student opinion surveys collected from 650 colleges and universities that the company regards as the nation’s academically best undergraduate institutions. The selection process analyzed more than 30 data points broadly covering academics, cost, and financial aid. Overall, the 2012 Best Value Colleges list features 150 public and private schools in 37 states and the District of Columbia.
“We have endeavored to provide an excellent educational environment while remaining sensitive to the cost of a college education. We are proud to receive this recognition from the Princeton Review, which reflects our ongoing efforts and brings attention to the outstanding value of a New Paltz education,” said L. David Eaton, vice president of enrollment management at New Paltz.
A profile of SUNY New Paltz appears in the book The Best Value Colleges: 2012 Edition: The 150 Best Buy Colleges and What It Takes to Get In (Random House / Princeton Review, $21.99), published in February 2012, and on the company’s website at http://www.princetonreview.com/best-value-colleges.aspx.
“We commend SUNY New Paltz and all of the extraordinary colleges on our 2012 ‘Best Value Colleges’ list for all they are doing to keep costs down and offer generous aid to applicants with financial need – all while maintaining excellent academic programs,” said Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s Senior VP/Publisher and lead author of The Best Value Colleges: 2012 Edition.
Earlier this year, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine ranked New Paltz in the top 100 best values in the nation for public four-year institutions that deliver a high quality education at an affordable price and U.S. News & World Report ranked New Paltz 6th among best public regional universities in the North with both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
