Commencement 2011

The State University of New York at New Paltz is proud to announce its 183rd annual commencement ceremonies to be held this May for both our August/December 2010 graduates and May 2011 candidates. The College is honored to welcome Noah P. Dorsky as the May 2011 commencement speaker. He is chair of the SUNY New Paltz Foundation and son of Samuel Dorsky, the namesake of the Samuel Dorsky Museum. The commencement schedule is as follows:

Graduate Ceremony:
Friday, May 20, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Old Main Quad, New Paltz Campus

Undergraduate Ceremony:
Sunday, May 22, 10:00 a.m. – noon
Old Main Quad, New Paltz Campus

Call for marshals

All members of the campus community are invited and encouraged to participate as marshals in the upcoming ceremonies. Staff participation in College-wide events such as commencement significantly enhances the richness and success of this memorable event for faculty, students and guests. The interim president and vice presidents would like to convey their appreciation and gratitude for all staff and faculty participation in commencement throughout the years.

Staff members interested in participating as marshals can register at my.newpaltz.edu. Registration is now open and will end on Monday, April 25 for those who wish to have their names appear in the program. A marshal information session will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 10 – 11:30 a.m. in the Student Union Building, 401/405.
