Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society to induct two new members at ceremony
NEW PALTZ – The School of Business at the State University of New York at New Paltz will recognize Antonio Bonilla, Director of the Educational Opportunity Program, and Marda Reid, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, for their untiring and invaluable contributions to the School of Business and the college community by inducting them as honorary members into the New Paltz Chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society in business, management and administration. The induction ceremony will take place during the School of Business Award & Graduation Ceremony at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 6, in Lecture Center 100 on campus.
Antonio Bonilla
Mr. Antonio Bonilla has served as the Director of the Educational Opportunity Program at New Paltz since 2008. “Under Mr. Bonilla’s excellent leadership, our Educational Opportunity Program has experienced some of its most successful years with high student retention rate, high graduation rate, and unbelievable educational experiences for our students,” said Hadi Salavitabar, Dean of the School of Business.
“Mr. Bonilla is genuinely committed to the education of our students, the quality of our programs, and the well being of our college community,” continued Salavitabar. “He has broad understanding of our educational programs and activities, has been a great and effective leader for our Educational Opportunity Program, and an invaluable mentor and advisor for our students. The School of Business and our students have significantly benefited from Mr. Bonilla’s leadership and commitment to our educational programs.”
Marda Reid
Ms. Marda Reid joined the college in 1990 and is currently the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Ethic Officer at the college. “Ms. Reid has led the Office of Human Resources to be one of the best managed divisions and helpful offices on campus,” said Salavitabar. “She is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and fair. She is a great and active member of any team she joins and strong supporter of working together across all units of the campus. Her vision and determination has resulted in much better services and environment for members of our campus community.”
“Ms. Reid is an excellent, dedicated, and effective member of our college community,” continued Salavitabar. “The School of Business has significantly benefited from her leadership and commitment to quality of professional lives of all members of our college.”
