Women’s Cross Country Strong in NCAA Regional’s
LETCHWORTH, NY- The men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the NCAA Regional’s on Saturday at Letchworth State Park. The women finished 16th out of 33 teams, eight spots better than 2008. The men finished 31st out of 38 teams.
On the women’s side, Lisa Cassaro led the Hawks with a 48th place finish in a time 23:37 and teammate Danielle Harmon finished 60th in a time of 23:47. Nichole Wischoff ran a 24:38 to finish in 95th place and Alex Berenis finished 126th with a time of 25:15. Jessica Abrams rounded out the top five for the Hawks with a time of 25:41 for a 138th place.
On the men’s side, Joe Gentsch led the Hawks with a 66th place finish with a time of 26:48 and Dexter Larsen finished 187th with a time of 29:03. Jeff Raab (198th place) and Sean Gannon (199th place) each finished with a time of 29:17. Nick Avello rounded out the top five for the Hawks with a 209th place finish in 29:35.
