Tennis Defeats Cortland, 6-3
CORTLAND, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team defeated host Cortland Friday afternoon, 6-3.
The Hawks were able to start the day off winning two of the three double flights. Stephanie Schara and teammate Lindsey Garyn defeated Stephanie DiCapua and Alyssa Tretter 8-5. The second double flight of Montana Wilson and Kayla DiPaulo defeated the team of Loraine Jelinek and Gabriela Medina 8-4.
In the single events, the Hawks took the third, fourth, fifth and sixth flights to defeat the Red Dragons, 6-3.

2nd singles: Medina (C) def. Wilson (NP) 6-4, 3-6 (10-8)
3rd singles: Garyn (NP) def. Tretter (C) 6-3, 6-0
4th singles: DiPaulo (NP) def. Sullivan (C) 6-0, 6-1
5th singles: Ingrid Maryansky (NP) def. Megan Bagg (C) 6-0, 6-1
6th singles: Alexandria Esposito (NP) def. Amanda Bieglecki (C) 6-2, 6-0
The Hawks improve to 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the SUNYAC and return to the court tomorrow against Rensselaer on the campus of RPI.
