2008-09 SUNYAC All-Conference players named

NEW PALTZ, NY- The 2008-09 SUNYAC All-Conference teams have been announced and the Hawks had two players earn awards.

Sophomore forward Artie Williams (Newburgh, NY) was named to the first team and is the first to do so since 1998 when Jasmine Sanchez earned the award.  Williams led the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game and rebounds with 7.6 per game.  She set a new career high with 36 points in her first game of the season with a win over William Smith in the SUNY New Paltz Tip-Off Classic Championship Game.

Junior guard Nicole Sarcone (Staten Island, NY) earned honorable mention for the second straight year in a row.  Sarcone led the team in assists with 5.7 per game and in steals with 2.3 per game.  She ranked in the top 25 in the nation all year in assists per game and in the top 50 in assists/turnover ratio in the nation.  She tied her career high in assists with 11 against #22 nationally ranked New York University on December 1st.
