Volleyball Extends Win Streak to 16
The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team extended their win streak to 16 and continued their perfect season with two more victories tonight at the Salisbury Invitational.
New Paltz defeated Gettysburg 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-23) to start the evening. First year Melinda DiGiovanna led the attack with eight kills on 17 attempts with zero errors and added nine digs. Junior Brittany Coyle chipped in with seven kills and three blocks and Lauren Hogue registered six kills and two blocks. Junior Stephanie Bova handed out 30 assists.
The Hawks continued their hot streak with a 3-0 win over Catholic University by scores of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-21. Senior Samantha Prudente recorded nine kills and 10 digs to pace the offense. Tara Annunziata totaled five kills and Dana Kindlemann added four kills and three blocks. Bova dished out 16 assists.
New Paltz is 16-0 on the season and will continue play at the Salisbury Invitational on Saturday when they play Susquehanna at 12pm and Salisbury at 2pm.
