Altadonna paces the Hawks to a 4-0 win over Bard College

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – SUNY New Paltz scored two early goals to cruise to the victory over Bard College, 4-0. The Hawks took 26 shots to Bard’s five on the evening.

James Altadonna (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) tallied two goals in the first seven minutes off the game. The first came when Sean Reminick (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) sent a through ball to Altadonna to beat the goalkeeper to his left. The second goal came from a cross that was deflected to Tommy Garafola (Richmond Hill, NY/St. Francis Prep) who then touched a through ball to Altadonna to beat the goalkeeper. The two goals give Altadonna eight on the year.

In the 44th minute, Joe Rose (Seaford, NY/Seaford) crossed the ball from the right and the goalkeeper attempting to make the save knocked it into the goal, for Roses first goal of the year.

In the 46th minute, Evan Martel (West Sayville, NY/Sayville) took the corner kick and found Anton Shipman (Howard Beach, NY/Molloy) on the header to beat the goalkeeper.

Patrick Carlucci (Goshen, NY/Goshen) earned the win in 45 minutes of play improving SUNY New Paltz to 3-1-2 overall on the season. Peter Carmel (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY/Stony Brook) played 45 minutes and tallied one save to contribute to the shutout.

Devon Connelly (High Falls, NY) tallied 11 saves in the loss for Bard, who falls to 0-3 overall on the season.

SUNY New Paltz returns to the field September 16 at King’s College at 4 p.m. The next home game is September 20 at 1 p.m. against SUNY Cortland.
