Softball Falls to Cortland in First Round of SUNYACs
PLATTSBURGH, NY — The softball team traveled to Plattsburgh to begin SUNYAC play and faced second seeded Cortland in the first round. The Hawks fell to Cortland 3-0 as the Red Dragon pitcher threw a no-hitter. Courtney Costello threw a complete game for New Paltz allowing three hits, one walk, three runs (one earned) while striking out two batters.
Cortland scored two runs in the bottom of the first on one hit and one error. The next four and a half innings saw no hits, no runs and no errors. Cortland tallied their second and third hit of the game in the sixth on an RBI double to left center to complete the scoring.
New Paltz will face Oswego at 3pm.
