Baseball Defeats Old Westbury 8-1
OLD WESTBURY, NY — The baseball team traveled to Old Westbury tonight won the 8-1 decision. New Paltz improved to 17-17, while Old Westbury drops to 11-26. The game was tied 1-1 before New Paltz plated six runs in the third inning and completed the scoring with the final run in the sixth.
Tyler Terlecky (3-for-6) was one of four Hawks to strike for multiple hits. Terlecky hit a double and two singles and scored one run while Jesse Marsh (2-for-5) drove in two runs off two singles. Michael Marash (2-for-5) tripled home Jesse Marsh in the six run third inning. Joel Judson (2-for-4) totaled two singles and two scores as Michael Fasolo (1-for-4) doubled home two runs and scored twice. Judson went the distance to record the victory with eight strikeouts; Judson allowed one earned run on five hits as he handed out two free passes. New Paltz out hit Old Westbury 12-5, while leaving 14 on base.
New Paltz returns to action on April 24th when they host Mt. St. Mary at 4:00 pm.
