Art Lecture: Julianne Swartz & Ken Landauer
NEW PALTZ — Julianne Swartz creates sculptures and site-specific installations involving light, sound, physics and architecture. Her work has been widely exhibited throughout the United States and Europe including Tate Liverpool Museum, UK, the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY (2004 Biennial), The New Museum, NY, P.S. 1/MOMA, NY, Sculpture Center, NY, Artist’s Space, NY, Tang Museum, NY, and Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art, FL. She currently teaches at Bard College and the School of Visual Arts.
Ken Landauer is an installation artist and photographer who currently has a show at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, and at the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony (a collaboration with Julianne Swartz). His installations have been sponsored by the Public Art Fund in NY, the Kansas City Municipal Art Commission, the Providence Parks Department and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. He received his MFA from Rhode Island School of Design.
