Hawks Fall to Golden Eagles, 1-0
NEW PALTZ, NY — The women’s soccer team hosted St. Joseph’s College this afternoon and fell to the Golden Eagles, 1-0, after a thunder/lightening delay. St. Joseph’s notched the only goal of the game with one second remaining in the first half, on a shot from the base line that deflected off a New Paltz defender into the right side of the net. After the thunder/lightening delay the Hawks came out fighting for the last 18 minutes but couldn’t capitalize on their five shot attempts and three corner kick opportunities. Junior Sarah Boccard took the loss in nets, posting 10 saves, as the Hawks fall to 1-3 on the season. New Paltz returns to action on Wednesday, September 12th when they travel to Vassar for a 4:00 pm kickoff.
