Valedictorian is a School of Business Student for the Second Year in a Row
NEW PALTZ — For the second year in a row, the SUNY New Paltz valedictorian is from the School of Business. The Class of 2007 Valedictorian is Jumpei Onozuka.
Jumpei is a double major in Finance and Accounting and minor in Economics with cumulative GPA of 4.0. Currently, he is a Resident Assistant (RA) in Esopus Hall, and the president of the Dean’s Student Advisory Board. Jumpei is also a member of Accounting & Finance Association and International Student Union. In spring 2006, Jumpei was inducted into the School of Business Hall of Fame as the Student of the Year. Recently, he earned the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award, and Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, and he will be inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society. Finally, he participated in the School’s Business Plan Contest in 2005.
Jumpei did an internship with the Core Assurance practice of Ernst & Young LLP during the summer of 2006, and will be starting with the Structured Finance Advisory Services of the firm in July 2007. His past involvements with extra-curricular activities include New Paltz Men’s Soccer, Student Association Senate, Asian Student Association, Circle K International, and Campus Tutoring Center.
Jumpei is an exceptional student, a great leader, and a true professional, who has very high level of work ethic and integrity.
