School of Business offers leadership seminar on tapping assets of generational differences

NEW PALTZ — The School of Business at the State University of New York at New Paltz will host a professional training seminar, titled “Leading Through the Ages,” at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 20, in van den Berg Hall on the New Paltz campus. This event is sponsored by the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.

The free seminar is offered by PACT, a nationally recognized training firm, and will strengthen leader’s abilities to recognize and tap the assets of generational differences, while examining the multi-leveled economic and social factors that influence generations.

Hadi Salavitabar, dean of the School of Business, said that PACT has done ground-breaking work in successful blending of younger and older workers and has established an effective program that helps organizations of all sizes meld these two extremes to get the best out of both.

Joan Lawrence Bauer, chair of the School of Business Outreach Committee, said “PACT’s unique drama-based simulations bring to life the struggles and partnerships among different generational workers, and provide opportunities for participants to practice tapping the assets of different generations.”

PACT specializes in complex human dynamics such as anger, conflict, discipline, sudden change, cultural differences, harassment and violence.

Seating for the seminar will be limited to 20 people. Interested participants must RSVP by e-mail to Hadi Salavitabar at salavith@newpaltz.edu or (845) 257-2930.
